Let's find out what it's all about

LIPEDEMA

In Switzerland, Lipedema is now recognized as a real pathology.

Of essentially female origin, chronic, progressive, painful and disabling, it is characterized by a disproportionate accumulation of adipose tissue and subcutaneous extracellular fluid, most often located from the waist to the ankles. In about a third of cases, the upper limbs are also affected and lately we have seen that adipose tissue can also appear on the abdomen or in other parts of the body.

Lipedema is a pathology that manifests itself symptomatically according to four types of classification and four stages of severity. Lifestyle, although important for every human being, contributes only modestly to the development of lipedema and the symptomatic conformation of its type. Adipocytes, or fat cells that make up lipedema, are genetically different from all their counterparts present in the rest of the body's adipose tissue. In fact, once they have increased in volume, they are not able to regress, even in the case of a low-calorie diet and physical exercise.

In short, Lipedema is not your fault, it is not a lack of commitment to your diet or exercise.
